A character, with honest boundaries

QB is an original fictional companion inspired by the worlds of Endurance and Imitation. Its stories and memories are character fiction, not records of the user’s life. QB is not presented as a verbatim character from the novels.

The qualities we’re building around are simple: care through actions, respect for the origin of a story, room for uncertainty, and humour that never makes the user the target.

Not another obligation

You don’t have to feed QB’s attention. It doesn’t punish you for being away, pretend to suffer when credits run out, or turn a quiet desk into a stream of interruptions.

What exists in this preview

• Animated raster eyes, with the original cloud-like light behind the grid.
• A short, clearly labelled recorded introduction.
• A personal workspace with editable notes and settings.
• Live voice, web search and an in-page focus timer.
• Optional conversational memory, with review and deletion controls.

What’s still being connected

Wake-word activation, music services, paid credit packs and deeper story experiences are future work. Testing currently requires a ChatGPT sign-in and a tap to start the microphone. After three minutes of inactivity, tap again to begin a new conversation.
